Albert DuWayne Rausch

Albert DuWayne Rausch, 66, of Meredosia, died Thursday morning, April 8, 2004, at his residence.
He was born June 30, 1937, in Meredosia, the son of Albert W. and Opal Bunch Rausch. He married Mary Gregory on September 10, 1960 in Meredosia. 
He is survived by five daughters, Angie (husband Tim) Crow of Chambersburg, Patty Schmitz of Meredosia, Mindy Rausch of Chambersburg, Allison (husband Terry) Day of Meredosia, and Kara (husband Seth) Parker of Petersburg; nine grandchildren, Alaina and Franci Borrowman, Shane and Patrick Test, Nathan and Anthony Rausch, and Samantha, Heather, and Jordan Browning; one great-grandchild; three brothers and three sisters, Bobby Lee Rausch of Meredosia, Ted (wife Sandra) Rausch of Meredosia, Doris Ransom of Meredosia, Nancy Rankin of Sandwich, Marjorie ( husband Jack) Morrell of Meredosia and Leroy (wife Brenda) Rausch of Jacksonville; and longtime companion Cathy Brim of Meredosia, her son Michael Brim of Meredosia, and her grandchildren, Braydon and Kaileigh Brim. He was preceded in death by one sister in infancy and by Cathy Brim's son, Jason. 
Mr. Rausch was a 1956 graduate of Meredosia/Chambersburg High School. He worked for National Starch & Chemical for 41 years, before retiring in 1997. He was a member of Meredosia American Legion, served on the Meredosia School Board, and was a Democratic Precinct Committeeman, and served as Laborer Union #484 President. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Rausch was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. 
Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Schaefer-Cody Funeral Home in Meredosia, with burial at Oakland Cemetery. Friends called after 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the family met friends 5-7 p.m. Memorials were suggested to Meredosia Fire Department, Meredosia Rescue Squad or Hospice of Central Illinois.
